Our Story
Solihull Catering Services is part of Solihull Council and has been providing quality catering to schools since 1974 when Solihull Council was created. Over this time, school food and our services has changed beyond recognition. The traditional starchy fare has been replaced by healthy, oven-baked nutritionally balanced dishes. Pupils are now given a wide choice of options, recognising the changing tastes of children and the ethical and cultural requirements in schools today.
As we are a Council, schools and parents can have peace of mind that we place children and young people at the heart of all we do to enable them to achieve their potential and lead fulfilling lives. We are committed to ensuring everyone has an equal chance to lead a healthy life, and our partnerships across the public health sector influence the decisions made regarding school meals. An example of this was during the Covid-19 pandemic, when the service worked closely with public health teams to ensure that the latest guidance was followed, and children got a healthy meal at lunchtime.
Our Team
Our catering team is passionate about providing fresh, seasonal and nutritious meals to school children so they can be at their best during the school day.
We are an experienced and knowledgeable team. We focus on building a relationship with each school so that we can provide the best possible service to staff, parents and pupils.
Being a smaller team, you can get in touch with us easily and each school has a dedicated operational support manager to support your day-to-day needs. We pride ourselves on being responsive to changes in the marketplace and schools.
